Abstract

The successful surgical treatment of a large retroperitoneal hematoria following postpartal rupture of the left ovarian vein was reported with ;the review of literatury available.
A significant interrelationship was observed between the .occurrence of this vascular complication and the dextro-devration and twist-to-right of enlarged pregnant uterus.
In treating this accident the temporary block of the blood flow of the common iliac artery guarantees the advantage that it assures the prompt recognition and secure ligation . of the ruptured protion of vessel.
